The VDS remains with the vessel while the AQ2-R pod is designed to be removable. The concept supports dockside handling and service access without treating the propulsion unit as a permanent part of the hull.
1. Installed. AQ2-R sits inside the vessel docking structure.
2. Removed for service. The pod can be handled separately from the vessel.
3. Reinstalled. The pod returns to the VDS and reconnects to the vessel systems.
A fully electric propulsion conversion eliminates diesel fuel consumption and diesel-engine oil changes associated with the propulsion engine.
Actual operating savings will depend on the vessel, duty cycle, local fuel and electricity prices, charging strategy, maintenance requirements and final AQ2-R configuration. We present those economics as vessel-specific—not as a universal savings claim.
Use your vessel's real numbers. The calculator estimates what you currently spend each year on diesel fill-ups and propulsion-engine oil changes.
Enter the amount of diesel you actually add during a typical fill-up—not necessarily the vessel's full tank capacity.
Formula: gallons per fill-up × diesel price × fill-ups per month × 12, plus oil-change cost × oil changes per year. This shows current diesel/oil spending; it is not a guaranteed AQ2-R net-savings figure.

AQ2-R's monitoring concept combines battery supervision with vessel-facing system awareness so operators can see important conditions in real time and respond earlier when attention is needed.
Monitors battery operating conditions such as cell and pack voltage, current, temperature and state of charge; supports balancing, charge/discharge limits and protective responses according to the final battery architecture.
Brings propulsion and sensor information together for onboard visibility, status, alerts, diagnostics and preventive-maintenance awareness. Final monitored and controlled functions will follow prototype integration and validation.

Our waterways are living habitats. Aqua Leaf's environmental direction is about reducing reliance on diesel propulsion, eliminating propulsion-engine oil changes after conversion, and developing marine technology with greater awareness of the environment in which vessels operate. AQ2-R-specific acoustic and ecological effects will require vessel-level testing.
The next stage is focused on physical prototype development, integration, testing and validation of the AQ2-R platform.
That work will help establish measured performance, refine the installation architecture and provide the data needed for future engineering, certification and commercialization decisions.
